"Captain Knox's Company, Stonewall Rangers, MS Cavalry Militia"

The Stonewall Rangers were a Militia company. I don't think they saw any real action, or at least any that I can trace. I will check further though. The only record of service that has been found for men in the unit is an oath of allegiance to the Confederacy, with the following information appearing at the bottom....."We the undersigned members of Captain J. G. Knox's Company from the Counties of Lauderdale, Newton, Neshoba, and Kemper, for local defense, under an act of Congress approved October 13, 1862, Solemnly Swear that we will support the Constitution of the Confederate States and bear true allegiance to the government thereof and serve her faithfully against all enemies, So help us God." Sworn and subscribed before L. J. Hester, J. P., Neshoba County, State of Mississippi, May 30, 1863. Information and roster donated by Bryan McRaven.
