Slaves that went to warcompiled by McRae Limerick Some of the Confederate soldiers that were slave owners brought their favorite servant to the war with them. They were considered a part of the Confederate Army. They were eligible to draw a soldier's pension, which some did eventually draw. The following is a partial list:
