McKee yDNA Project

William Robert McKee move his family to Noxubee County about 1834, where he owned land on both sides of the Kemper / Noxubee County line. His son, Hugh Kelsey McKee lived all of his adult life near Moscow in Kemper County.

Oden yDNA Project

The brothers Elias and George Oden moved to what became Kemper County before 1830. They were followed by their brother, John Havey Oden and their father, Thomas Bussey Oden, in 1837 and 1839. Thomas Bussey Oden died before 1844. His son, Hezekiah Oden died without issue shortly after the 1840 census. Alexander Gilchrist Oden, the youngest son, moved to Neshoba County when he married. Elias Oden moved to Leon County, Texas about 1855. George Oden possibly died in the War Between the States. John Harvey Oden died about 1872. Elias, George and John all left descendants in Kemper County.
